FLOOD VICTIMS IN PAHANG REMAIN AT 29 PEOPLE

KUANTAN, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- The number of flood victims in Pahang remained at 29 people this morning, although the water level at a flood assessment point in one of the districts in the state recorded an increase.

A spokesman at the Pahang police operations room said 16 of the victims, from three families, were from Kampung Kuang, Lanchang, in the Temerloh district, who had been evacuated to the Taman Murni community hall and the Kampung Kuang mosque, while 13 others were from two families in the Cameron Highlands, currently staying at the Ringlet community hall.

Meanwhile, two roads in Bera -- Jalan Kampung Orang Asli Chuat and Jalan Kampung Orang Asli Ibam -- have been closed to light vehicles as they are submerged under 1 metre of water, he added.

However, he said, none of the residents in the affected areas had been evacuated as at 8am today.
